Dyson® is reinforcing their commitment to professional hairstylists with the launch of the Supersonic r™. The brand new blowdryer is 30 percent smaller, 20 percent lighter and easier to maneuver than the already super lightweight, OG Supersonic™—saving the wrists and shoulders of busy hairstylists everywhere.
Being tasked with creating the smallest hairdryer on the market was no easy feat—here’s a look at how Dyson engineers accepted the challenge.
The new dryer has been years in the making—since 2017 the brand has surveyed and interviewed 696 stylists to understand their habits, needs and challenges. Here’s what they found:
These stats informed the creation of Supersonic r™, here’s how it’s different than any other blowdryer:
Precise heat & air settings: The dryer is designed with three precise airflow settings and four heat modes, including constant cold shot. The controls and LED indicators are both on the handle all within a thumb’s reach so stylists can adjust without interrupting the styling session.
The Dyson Supersonic r™ is exclusively for professional stylists and will be available in March. Visit dyson.com to join the waitlist and find out more information on local availability.
